How This Copy Came to the Library
This was a book my dad kept when my grandpa passed. When my wife and I moved to Florida, we got extremely lucky and found a place beachside of the A1A, so I packed this book when we made the move.About This Copy
This is the thirteenth printing of the Ballantine paperback edition, published in October 1990. The cover photograph is by Morgan Kane. Its wear and ownership inscription preserve the book’s life across three generations of Drew’s family.Memories & Connections
This was a book my dad had kept when my grandpa passed. When I moved to Florida, my wife and I got extremely lucky and were able to find a place beachside of A1A. So I packed this book when we made the move.

My grandpa was a successful writer and had a deep appreciation for the written word, for authors who were better understood as artists. That is what I remember of this book: a deep, poetic appreciation for a stretch of natural beach coast in the Northeast.
