These four substantial green cloth books, compiled and edited by Johanna Manley, gather Scripture alongside Orthodox liturgical texts and commentary from the Church Fathers. Each volume has its own focus, but their shared format, method, and physical design make them a natural collection within Drew’s library.
The set comprises The Bible and the Holy Fathers for Orthodox Christians, Grace for Grace: The Psalter and the Holy Fathers, Isaiah Through the Ages, and Wisdom: Job and the Fathers.
Completing the Four #
Of the four, Wisdom: Job and the Fathers had been thought to be out of print for the longest. Available used copies were outrageously expensive, so finding a new copy through Narthex Press finally made it possible to complete the group without paying the inflated secondhand prices.
